A K-BIG 50th Anniversary Commemoration! WKBW Radio Adopts Top 40 Format 1958-2008

On July 3, 2008, ForgottenBuffalo.com hosted a once in a lifetime event in front of the original WKBW Radio studios. The party commemorated the 50th anniversary of KBs historic 1958 format switch to Top 40. The event features live music, a number of 1958 automobiles and appearances by WKBW alumni Tom Donahue, Stan Roberts and Danny Neaverth. For one day only, 1430 Main Street came alive again with the spirit of KB. The event including two 1958 Fords, a reunion of KB employees including Stan Roberts, Danny Neaverth and Tom Donahue, an appearance by Linda Anscombe, daughter of Al Anscombe, the General Manager who changed music formats in 1958 and music provided by Mr. Conrad, Nick Veltri and Mike Phelps. The highlight of the event was the Danny Neaverth's signing of Rats in My Room and House of the Rising Sun.
