From 1965 to 2001, former New York World's Fair Glide-A-Rides did yeomans work at the Erie County Fair. In this picture, a newly purchased tram poses in the area occupied by the midway. During the 1964-65 World's Fair, the Glide-A-Rides were sponsored by Greyhound Bus Lines.

James E. Strates Show Midway @ the Erie County Fair
America's only "railroad carnival," the fabulous James E. Strates Shows has been a fixture at America’s Fair since 1924. The Strates Shows has a history dating back to 1923 when James E. Strates, a Greek immigrant, produced his first carnival under the name Southern Tier Shows. In 1932 the show’s name was formally changed to James E. Strates Shows. Mr. Strates continued to build and manage the carnival until his death in 1959. At that time his son, E. James Strates, assumed responsibility for the carnival and still operates it today.
