Located a block away from the Broadway Market and near Corpus Christi Parish is the intersection of Clark and Kent Streets, known as “Superman Corner.” It is one of the very few spots on the planet where two streets of those names come together in a coincidental reference to the super hero’s alter ego.
Buffalo’s “Superman Corner” is famous for another reason as Johnny Rzeznik, famed leader of the Goo Goo Dolls, lived only eight houses away from the corner of Clark and Kent streets. John and his four sisters would often reference "Superman Corner” growing up in the neighborhood as a place to meet and play.
In his professional life, Rzeznik uses the “corner of Clark and Kent” as the name under which the Goo Goo Dolls publish their music.
